The latest season of the hit reality cooking show Hell's Kitchen has just wrapped up, leaving fans hungry for more of Gordon Ramsay's trademark spit and vinegar. Now relief is in sight, as Ubisoft announces Hell's Kitchen: The Video Game, coming this September to the Nintendo Wii and DS. The game offers a three-tiered challenge - preparation, cooking, and service - all watched over by a virtual version of Ramsay himself.

Sports Island is an altogether more athletic offering, pulling together ten sporting events and pushing the player to their limits. Players are invited to play addictive versions of Beach Volley, Soccer, Badminton, Basketball, Curling, Figure Skating, Archery, Moto Cross, Snowboarding and Kart Race. Each uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in unique yet accessible ways. As such, a subtle swing of the Wii Remote is used to hit the ball in Volleyball, while subtle twists are needed to ride the slopes in the Snowboarding section.
Up to four players can compete in each event, and, with its entertaining multi-player modes and varied gameplay, Sports Island is an ideal game for players of all ages. Each sport is brilliantly realised and intuitive to play, with sports such as Soccer and Basketball featuring all the passes and skill of the real thing but without sacrificing immediacy. Similarly, the likes of Figure Skating and Curling demand precision from the player and a different range of skills, guaranteeing hours of entertainment as players attempt to climb the in-game leader boards at the expense of their friends.

Publisher South Peak Interactive has announced the development of Dream Pinball for Wii.

According to the publisher, Dream Pinball will feature "HDR lighting, motion blur and advanced particle systems [to] generate a remarkable graphical sheen, with selectable cameras providing one fixed and six dynamic action-tracking camera angles." The tables themselves will range in design and theme, and come with multiple areas, secrets, special effects three-way multiball.
Players will also be able to choose from balls made of different materials like marble, oak, ivory and gold. Each material will feature "distinct ballistic properties", South Peak said.
A multiplayer mode for up to four players will be included, as well. The publisher did not specify the presence of online play or connectivity to the DS version of Dream Pinball.

The active-play phenomenon started by Wii Sports now spreads to your whole body thanks to the pressure-sensitive Wii Balance Board (name not final), which comes packed with Wii Fit. The board is used for an extensive array of fun and dynamic activities, including aerobics, yoga, muscle stretches and games. Many of these activities focus towards providing a "core" workout, a popular exercise method that emphasizes slower, controlled motions. Family members will have fun staying active and talking about and comparing their results and progress on a new channel on the Wii Menu.
